Every faculty or university staff member at one time in their career experiences a student that causes them to wonder, "Is this okay? What am I supposed to do about this?" You know the student who disrupts the classroom, irritates others, questions your authority, questions your knowledge, makes you feel uncomfortable or perhaps threatens, or discloses uncomfortable information in their assignments or emails.

What is the cause of this incivility in the classroom? When is this behavior more than incivility? When does it become a mental health concern?
