Since starting at UTSA in July of 2017\, she has become responsible for Blackboard support for faculty\, staff\, and students. In addition\, since July 2018\, she has been responsible for the planning and delivery all Blackboard training for faculty. Prior to returning to her home state of Texas\, Ms. Sheehy spent over nine years in Arizona with K-20 teachers and students integrating technology into the classroom and\, in that role presented at a variety of state and national conferences. Ms. Sheehy thrives on sharing knowledge and helping others use that knowledge to make educators’ lives easier.

SUMMARY:50th Anniversary Scholars Speaker Series: Langston Clark - Mind and Muscle: The Intersection of Black Athleticism and Intellectualism
DESCRIPTION:MIND AND MUSCLE: THE INTERSECTION OF BLACK ATHLETICISM AND INTELLECTUALISM\nThe success of African Americans in popular sports has been well documented\, while less attention has been given to their intellectual achievements. Utilizing historical\, sociological\, and cultural perspectives\, Dr. Clark will explore the intersection of Black Intellectualism and Black Athleticism. \nLANGSTON CLARK\nAssistant Professor of Kinesiology\, Health and Nutrition\nCollege of Education and Human Development \nDr. Clark’s research focuses on the manifestation of social justice within Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs)\, physical education teacher education\, and athletics. Some of his recent and forthcoming publications can be found in Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport\, Journal of Black Psychology\, Journal of Teaching in Physical Education\, the Teacher Educator and the Journal of Negro Education.
