SUMMARY:Pressbooks Basics: Simple Book Publishing at UTSA
DESCRIPTION:Pressbooks is an open educational resource authoring platform for simple book publishing. It has several uses in courses: from creating original OER\, remixing existing OER\, and even working with students to create a collaborative book as a class project that can be used as a renewable assignment. Pressbooks can also be used to openly license and share findings for grant-funded projects. Upon completion of the Pressbooks Basic workshop\, attendees can create a new book\, clone an existing book\, remix chapters from various Creative Commons licensed books\, add media and other content to a book\, and export a book in a wide range of formats. \nRegister for this Zoom workshop below. \nRegister for this eventPresented By:DeeAnn IvieOpen Education Coordinator• Coordinates the Adopt-a-Free-Textbook grant program and facilitates outreach to campus partners in support of the initiative\n• Certified in OER Librarianship through the Open Education Network and is also Creative Commons Certified.\n• Provides research and teaching support for social sciences faculty and tailors library sessions and tutorials for classes\n• Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas\n• ORCiD ID is 0000-0002-9918-9530.
