DESCRIPTION:Hello and welcome back! For Spring 2021\, Academic Innovation is providing professional development opportunities by offering Quality Matters workshops/Courses. \nQuality Matters (QM) is a faculty-centered\, peer-review process designed to certify the quality of online and blended courses. UTSA became a Full Subscribing member of Quality Matters in October 2019 and began implementation in January 2020. \nNote that all QM professional development courses include necessary materials. Access to the QM Rubric is included in the registration fee for those courses/workshops where it is required. \n\n\n\n\nPeer Reviewer Course (PRC): Become a QM-Certified Peer Reviewer with this intensive course focused on QM quality assurance for course review process. (Three weeks\, 15-20 hours per week).\n\n\nPrereq: The Applying the Quality Matters Rubric Workshop (APPQMR) is REQUIRED before taking this certification course\, and there must be a 7-day window between completing the APPQMR and registering for the PRC.\nApril 6\, 2021 – April 27\, 2021\n\n\n\nComplete the Faculty Interest Form below by April 5th to join this workshop!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFaculty Interest Form

She has helped to develop successful proposals to NSF\, NIH\, the Department of Education\, the Department of Defense\, and other agencies and foundations\, including proposals for large institutional and center-level grants. \nPreviously\, she worked in research development at Texas A&M University for 8 years\, most recently serving as Associate Director of the university’s Office of Proposal Development. \nIn addition\, she directed the university’s New Faculty Initiative\, helping new faculty to jump start their research by helping them to identify funding opportunities\, develop a strategy for pursuing funding\, understand funding agencies\, and learn how to write competitive proposals. \nShe also worked with faculty in Predominantly Undergraduate Institutions and Minority Serving Institutions across the Texas A&M System. \nBefore joining Texas A&M\, she worked as a research engineer in industry for 16 years\, obtaining funding from DoD\, DARPA and the Department of Energy. \nYou can find more information at her LinkedIn page. \nContact: LDeckard@academicresearchgrants.com

DESCRIPTION:Description: \nPresentation designed for “Financial Administrators” of iLab accounts Lab/Group for Primary Investigators (PIs) or departmental research programs. The iLab software provides a unified interface for Researchers\, PIs\, and the Financial Administrators of PI departments\, colleges\, and/or academic/research programs to use scientific resources offered by UTSA Research Core Facility (RCF). Simply referred to as “Cores”\, core facilities are a shared research facility that provides access to technologies\, training and high quality\, technical services delivered by scientific experts to enable or enhance the research mission of the university. Through the iLab interface\, PIs and their Researchers can request management\, equipment reservations\, project tracking\, billing and invoicing\, and reporting \nObjectives: \nIn iLab\, Primary Investigators (PI) can assign Lab/Group Managers as Financial administrators with account provisions to perform actions within their associated Lab/Group(s).
