DESCRIPTION:The Adobe Express Faculty Institute consists of four 45-minute sessions. Participants will be introduced to applications included in Adobe Express\, an online tool that is free for all UTSA faculty\, staff\, and students. Attendees will be able to complete short projects that will give them the opportunity to produce artifacts that they can use to improve their digital literacy skills. SUMMARY:PDF Training Part 1: Working with Scanned PDFs and Saving PDFs Correctly
DESCRIPTION:Did you know scanned PDFs are challenging for many users to read and limit engagement? Do you have Word documents and PowerPoints that need to be converted to PDF? In this interactive training\, we’ll cover two key topics in PDF accessibility: working with scanned PDFs and converting files accessibly. Learn to save PDFs correctly\, identify scanned PDFs\, and use Adobe Acrobat tools to make files searchable\, editable\, and exportable for a better user experience. Note:?This is a hands-on training\, so bring your (suspected) scanned PDFs to apply the skills you’ll learn! \n\nLearners will be able to convert Word and PowerPoint files into a tagged PDF.\nLearners will be able to understand the negative impact of a scanned PDF on users and possible alternatives.\nLearners will be able to use the OCR tool\, review OCERed elements\, and export PDFs for updates and edits on the road to creating an accessible PDF.\n\nCreating an effective learning environment for all is important to us.
