THE INVISIBLE WALL: OVERCOMING SOCIAL OBSTRUCTIONS IN HIGHER EDUCATION
The effort and acumen required for students to pursue their dream of a college education is substantial, and the obstructions potentially preventing them from degree completion are many. Dr. Sansone will explore how these roadblocks can hinder the ability of vulnerable/diverse populations to traverse class structures, and share research indicating that when societies demand student success for all groups, we all achieve.

Dr. Sansone’s research agenda aims to advance equity and success for diverse student populations in higher education. A native of San Antonio and a first-generation college student, she holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Higher Education from UTSA, a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with an emphasis in Higher Education Administration from UTSA, and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from St. Mary’s University, San Antonio.
