Description:

Presentation designed for “Financial Administrators” of iLab accounts Lab/Group for Primary Investigators (PIs) or departmental research programs. The iLab software provides a unified interface for Researchers, PIs, and the Financial Administrators of PI departments, colleges, and/or academic/research programs to use scientific resources offered by UTSA Research Core Facility (RCF). Simply referred to as “Cores”, core facilities are a shared research facility that provides access to technologies, training and high quality, technical services delivered by scientific experts to enable or enhance the research mission of the university. Through the iLab interface, PIs and their Researchers can request management, equipment reservations, project tracking, billing and invoicing, and reporting

Objectives:

In iLab, Primary Investigators (PI) can assign Lab/Group Managers as Financial administrators with account provisions to perform actions within their associated Lab/Group(s). By attending this course, users will be able to: 1) manage users in their lab/group and control financial access/approvals; 2) manage invoices for completed services; and 3) manage payment and billing information.

Audience:

This course is beneficial to any financial or fiscal administrators/specialists managing the accounts of Research Faculty who choose to use the iLab software.

Through the iLab interface, PIs and their Researchers can request/manage equipment reservations and service requests,  track work of existing projects, handle billing and invoicing, and report financials on members on core facility usage.
