Faculty work hard to select course materials that don’t get read. Students spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars a year on books they don’t use. Join us for this important discussion about the connection between texts and student learning. Faculty will learn targeted strategies for getting students to engage with class readings. Participants are invited to bring texts to the workshop.

Mary Dixson currently serves as Associate Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning Services and teaches courses for the Department of Communication at UTSA. Dixson earned a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of Texas, Austin. She has been leading faculty development initiatives for 8 years and has 20 years of experience teaching practical skills and theory in communication and public speaking.
