This session will discuss the use of gamification as an innovative instructional strategy. Pedagogical research shows “serious games” and simulations are effective and engaging tools for not only facilitating student learning but also activating empathy, global awareness, and social responsibility. The session will illustrate gamification techniques with examples from a Political Science course on ethnic conflict and civil wars.
